Auto enthusiasts rejoice! The production Porsche 918 Spyder has finally been revealed, and it’s a doozy. Powered by a naturally-aspirated V8 4.6L gasoline engine and two electric motors – one mounted on the front axle while the other sits at the rear one, it rockets from 0-62mph in less than 2.8 seconds, 0-124mph in 7.7 seconds and 0-186mph is achieved in 22 seconds, en route to a top speed of 214mph. The optional Weissach package comes with special colors inspired by the firm’s most important race cars and includes lightweight magnesium alloys which lower the car’s regular 1,634 kg (3,602 lbs) weight by approximately 35 kg (77 lbs).

The electric motors get their energy from a 6.8 kWh lithium-ion battery installed at the lower back of the monocoque. The battery pack can be charged during braking or with a plug-in charger
