China, host of the 2008 Summer Olympics, has taken the more creative route to transform their National Aquatic Center, popularly known as the “Water Cube” into something that locals and tourists alike can enjoy. It was once the venue of the Olympic swimming competitions, where Michael Phelps broke records and won eight gold medals. The Water Cube is now home to “Happy Magic Water Cube Water Park,” complete with numerous water-rides, spa pools, wave pools, a “lazy river,” and 13 water slides including the Bullet Bowl and Speed Slide.
