Did you know that a man named Paul Brown was the sole person who invented a special valve that released the contents of the bottle when its sides are pressed? Subsequently, the design was purchased by various companies, including Heinz, whom added it to their upside-down ketchup bottle. In 1995 Brown decided to sell his entire company, patents included, for a lofty $13-million, or in other words, enough money to retire comfortably at the age of 48.
