Yes, a Florida woman, Cleanthi Peters, actually sued Universal Studios back in the year 2000 because their haunted house was “too scary” and caused her emotional distress. She brought her 10-year-old granddaughter to Universal’s annual Halloween Horror Nights back a couple years earlier, and according to Peters, she and her granddaughter were approaching the exit of the theme park’s haunted house when an employee with a chainsaw — minus the chain — leaped out and pretended to attack them. 10. Sea World

Approximately 14-years-ago, Daniel Dukes was killed by a whale at Sea World. He hid himself from the security guards of Sea World so he could stay at the park after closing to achieve his lifelong dream of swimming with a whale. After the death, his parents sued Sea World because of failure to display public warnings the whale could actually kill people.

9. Woman vs. Night Club

To skimp out on paying the $3.50 cover fee at a night club, Kara Walton decide to enter through its toilet window. As a result of this bizarre incident, she fell down, knocked out her two front teeth, and sued the club. The judge ruled in her favor and the woman was awarded $12,000, complete with all of her dental expenses paid.

For some reason, a lawyer from Southern California was listed in the GTE Yellow Pages under the heading “Reptiles”. So, he sued GTE California for damages in excess of $100,000, claiming that the incident caused him to become the target of bad jokes and rude telephone calls.

A 27-year old man from New York sued Subway after he took a bite of his sandwich and noticed a knife jammed in between the bread. He then sued Subway for $1,000,000 due to alleged food poisoning, which he said to have gotten from the filthy plastic handle of the knife.

6. Video Games

Linda Sanders and other family members of the victims in the Columbine High School massacre sued 25 makers of video games in 2001, alleging that if it were not for their gaming titles, the tragedy would not have occurred. In the end, the plaintiffs were ordered to compensate the video game makers for their legal fees.

5. Husband vs. Wife

A man named Peter Wellis divorced his wife and like many former lovers, did not want to pay any compensation. So, he devised a plan to sue her on the grounds of sperm theft. The law suit states that she did not tell him that she was using birth control pills.

Believe it or not, a woman who accidentally killed a man while riding a snowmobile sued the wife of her victim, claiming psychological trauma witnessing the horrific accident.

3. Teens vs. Homeowner

Teens (at the time) Jeffrey Kline and Brett Birdwell burned themselves by touching uninsulated wire while illegally trespassing on private property. The two teenagers then sued the owner of the house and received a combined $24.2 million after the trial.

Christopher Roller actually sued famed magicians David Blaine and David Copperfield for defying the laws of physics. In the law suit, he demanded that they reveal their magic tricks to him. Plus, he also believed that the two magicians were using godly powers, and because he believed he was *God*, it was his powers that the magicians were stealing.

One day, Robert Lee Brock, who was a prisoner in Virginia during 1995, decided to be removed from prison so he could enter a mental institution. To accomplish this, he decided to sue himself for $50-million, claiming that he committed a crime while he was drunk. In the end, the case was dismissed and he failed to get his transfer.
