100 Million Pixel Virtual Reality Room

Iowa State University’s 100 million pixel virtual reality room -- 10-foot by 10-foot -- just got $4 million in equipment upgrades, including an HP computer with 96 GPUs, twenty four Sony digital projectors, an eight-channel audio system, and ultrasonic motion tracking technology. This new facility will open in the fall.
There’s a tsunami of information coming toward you and you have to convey it effectively. We think this kind of large-scale, immersive interface is the only way to develop sophisticated controls

haha. sweet. the picture quality on the walls doesn't look too hot but thats purdy crazy. keep up the good work

If this were MIT, and not, laff, Iowa State univ, they would've handled the image to correspond with a user's placement in the room. As it stands, the room is a box, and it appears [from the pic] that they have done nothing to retract from that feeling. Where's the immersion?
