Weird Things Subway

The earliest metro system, the London Underground, first opened as an “underground railway” in 1863; its first electrified underground line opened in 1890, making the London Underground the world’s first metro system. One interesting fact you may not know is that in 1993, a 16-year-old assumed the seat of a motorman on an NYC A train without anyone noticing. He successfully operated it for over three hours until he rounded a curve too quickly and tripped the train’s emergency brakes.
