20,000-Watt Snow Speakers

A group of Michigan Technological University students built an impressive sound system using 9 Behringer EP2500's, 1 Crown XLS602, and lots of snow. More pictures after the jump.
..which to us normal, snowman-making guys is over 20,000 watts in amplification. But yeah, that low-wattage Bose system you just bought is still really nice

really, how cool is this? they took a bunch of off the shelf shit and threw it in a pile of snow, congradu-fuck-ulations, you managed to reach the pinnacle of modern technology. Seriously, call me when you do something worthwhile. I could build a potato gun with more technical skill involved in an afternoon, and that is not saying anything. Seriously, I'm sick and tired of bullshit garbage being linked to all over the net for no serious reason.

I was up at Winter Carnival this year. That picture doesn't do it (or the snow statues) justice, it was quite awesome. Very loud and the sound quality was quite good. Plus they managed to get a dance party going next to it Wednesday night (the final night for building statues), which is rather impressive when it's below freezing before you start counting the 15-20 mph wind factor.
