At first glance, these may look like modern photographs of Russia, but they're actually from 100-years-ago. You read that right, skilled photographer Sergei Mikhailovich Prokudin-Gorskii (1863-1944) captured the Russian Empire with the support of Tsar Nicholas II. He utilized a specially made camera with red, green, and blue filters, which were then recombined and projected with filtered lanterns to show their true color. Continue reading for more pictures.
