3D printers are now more affordable than ever, and companies are now coming up with super-sized models to print everything from cars to the 12,000-square-foot villa you see above. Developed by China-based WinSun, this home was fabricated with a 3D printer in layers, using a paste of sorts consisting of recycled stone and construction waste, along with quick-dry cement. This special printer stands 20-feet-tall and spanning a gigantic 4,000-feet. The pieces were then reinforced with steel, and filled with insulation like you would a normal house. “The mansion, which was 3D printed inside and out, also saved on construction and labor, costing around $161,000 to build in its entirety. In the future, WinSun plans to use the efficient and low-construction waste process to build bridges and soaring skyscrapers. The company has already proven its stake in the 3D-printed architecture market, printing 10 homes at $5,000 apiece in March of last year,” reports Inhabitat.
