Burrito Babies

A restaurant in Seattle has gone viral online because customers have been photographing their newborn babies next to the restaurant’s four-pound grande burrito to illustrate just how monstrous in size they are. Gorditos offers a free burrito to parents who submit a photograph, as long as they are younger than 1-month old. The burrito normally costs $9 and can come with two tortillas, a choice of meat, guacamole, cheese as well as sour cream. 5. The Picture House – World’s First Instagram Restaurant

Called “The Picture House”, this is the world’s Instagram restaurant where patrons order, click a photo of their food and then share it on the social network afterwards to pay the bill. This idea was concocted by frozen food giant Birds Eye, and has been popping up in several major UK cities. In exchange for sharing photos, you get a free two-course meal. “We wanted to tap into this social media trend and create a new reason for people to talk about and sample our inspirations range,” said marketing director Margaret Jobling.

4. Sublimotion – A $2,000 Per Meal Restaurant

Sublimotion is currently the world’s most expensive restaurant, located on the party island of Ibiza. This establishment is being hailed as an unparalleled gastro-sensory venture, in which patrons will be served elaborate 20-course meals at a whopping cost of $2,000 per head. Lead by by Michelin-star chef Paco Roncero, the five-star restaurant has an exclusive concept…to accept only 12 guests at a time and provide them ‘an experience for all the senses’. “The dishes will cause a stir among the most neglected senses; from moments of humor, pleasure, fear, reflection and nostalgia, diners will be wandering through a world of sensations from the North Pole where they will enjoy a cold snack that they carve on their own iceberg or to the baroque Versailles where the elegance of a rose is sure to melt in their palate,” a spokesperson said.

3. Airsoft Restaurant

The EA Bar in Tokyo, Japan caters exclusively to airsoft lovers. This restaurant has its own airsoft shooting range, complete with an impressive collection of weapons, fashioned after their real-life counterparts. Plus, the theme extends to the cocktail menu, with all the drinks named after guns. After a tiring day at work, customers get to unwind at a shooting range in the heart of the city, and enjoy a nice hot meal at the same time. Menu wise, you’ll find pasta, risotto and a selection of curries.

2. ChocoChicken – Chocolate Fried Chicken Restaurant

Adam Fleischman, founder and CEO of the wildly successful restaurant chain Umami Burger, wanted to create yet another hit, and “ChocoChicken” is the result. This restaurant specializes in dipping pieces of chicken into chocolate-infused batter before frying them in hot oil. Fleischman says, “ChocoChicken is completely different than anything else out there. This isn’t traditional fried chicken, or even chicken just dipped in chocolate. It is a whole new style of fried chicken that you just have to taste to believe.”

1. Roller Coaster Restaurant

Nestled in an ultra luxurious shopping mall in Abu Dhabi, the ROGO restaurant has a network of 30 individual roller coaster tracks that deliver food straight from the kitchen to customers’ tables. The food, transported in sealed containers, travel along a network of double loops, spirals and turns spread out through the 14,000-square foot restaurant at the Yas Mall. Customers use tablets to place their orders and then can sit back and wait for their meals to race along the track. There’s also a tornado-shaped spiral in the dining room that gets narrower from top to bottom.
