Smart Laser-Scanner

This "Smart Laser-Scanner for 3D Human-Machine Interface" is capable of scanning fingers in three-dimensions and in real-time. It was developed by A. Cassinelli, S. Perrin, and M. Ishikawa from the Ishikawa-Namika Lab (University of Tokyo).

BenQ Scanner Concept

BenQ has unveiled a new type of scanner which can be hung on a wall (2cm - 9cm wide) via a hook to scan large posters or other images -- horizontally/vertically depending on their thickness. No word yet on if this concept will go into production.

The front cover can be replaced by a mirror for cosmetic “touchups” at the office or by a whiteboard for use as a notepad.

ZScanner 700 - 3D Scanner

The ZScanner 700 users lasers and dual cameras to "digitize any object into a three-dimensional polygon mesh within minutes."

Simply attach the included reflective markers to the object, connect the device to laptop via Firewire, and start scanning. The image is displayed on your laptop as it is being created, so you can presumably rotate the object and get a thorough scan, in a very interactive manner
