Geeks will probably remember the DeLorean DMC-12 from the Back to the Future movie series, but car buffs know that it was produced by the John DeLorean's DeLorean Motor Company for the American market in 1981-82. There have been several custom-built models since then, and we've rounded up some of the coolest for your viewing enjoyment. Continue reading to see them all.

5. Chrome DeLorean

At first glance, it may appear that this person painted their DeLorean with a chrome paint, but believe it or not, what you see is the original factory finish, polished to a mirror-like shine. According to its owner, this process took hundreds, if not thousands of hours, to achieve the chrome effect.

4. DeLorean Limousine

Why roll into your next special event in just an ordinary limousine, when this awesome DeLorean limousine exists? This custom creation was built by Rich W. of DeLorean Motor Cars and has a wheelbase of 240" and an overall length of 25'9". Unfortunately, it's not for sale.

3. DeLorean Monster Truck

Sure, it's not practical, but this one-of-a-kind DeLorean monster truck is something to marvel at. Simply put, the DeLorean's 1981 body was mounted atop "the frame of a 1979 Chevrolet K5 Blazer, before fitting a new 5.7-liter V8 engine."It comes complete with giant tires.

2. DeLorean Hovercraft

Here's a first: a DeLorean DMC-12 designed to look like a real hovercraft. That's right, "builder Matthew Riese acquired the funds to build the DeLorean hovercraft through a $5,500 Kickstarter." One caveat: it can't fly...yet.

1. Electric DeLorean

At $95,000, this custom-built electric DeLorean is powered by a 32-kWh lithium iron phosphate battery pack, has a top speed of 125mph, 100-mile range, and a 0-60 time of 4.9 seconds. The vehicle will be assembled in Houston, TX with a lot of help from Louisiana's Epic EV, the company working on the Torq and Amp vehicles.
