5 Reasons Why the iPhone "Sucks"

NewLaunches gives us five reasons as to why Apple's upcoming iPhone will "suck". Do you agree? Read the list after the jump.
With all the adoring praise being heaped on Apple's iPhone, it's about time someone starting noticing its flaws

1. 2-megapixel camera: when others have 5-megapixel shooters on board
2.5-hour talk time: not enough battery life
3. No expansion slot: Go for the 8-gig model and that's it.
4. No 3G: EDGE is so last year
5. No removable battery: You mean we can't take along a spare battery? WTF?

I agree with all of those reasons. The phone will only sell for apple's reputation

I agree on all those points, but lets wait and see if they change anything before the official release. And well lets face it, there is a limit to how much stuff they can cram into such a small device. I believe that Apple has indeed taken all the points mentioned above into consideration during development.

Uh... 1)the iPhone has a 2 megapixel camera 2)not many phones have a 5 megapixel camera 3)the iPhone has 5 hours battery life of --both video and talk time Although I believe that for the price of one iPhone even with a two year cingular contract I could buy a ps3 or a wii and an xbox 360

Nokia N95 seems to be far more superior...and the lcd wont bleed like ipods....

I think they will change aspects before launch, otherise theyve given the big phone companies almost a year to come up with an iphone beating device. Lack of 3g, no spare batteries, apple controled osx(surely will be hackable) and particularly contract requirements are all mistakes but time will tell. In any case the phone has many merits and it is a crude sweeping statement to say it will only sell because its apple. Apple hasnt got to where it is by making poor products, this will be a great phone but perhaps not so revolutionary as apple has made out.

everyone will still go out and buy it.. even if it sucks.. go look on the subway, all you see are ipod earphones.. apple owns everyone in america

well all you really need is 2 megapixel i personaly have 3.2 on my k800i. but i would get this phone just because of the features. i personaly think its enough battery time to last you the whole day. and plus its being released in america why would you need 3g when we dont even much have it yet. we are bearly getting 3g and japan HAS 4g already. and its not like the averege person takes along an extra battery. good phone and features. p.s. sony ericsson rulez cardude500

Have apple really let us down yet? They don't design products in a particular way without a valid reason, you'll probably find like their operating system of the mac and many of their products...it just works

I can't believe the battery situation, SO ridiculous that you cannot hot-swap batteries. Just another reason I refuse to buy most apple products.

Up to this point, all of the points brought up were good, and I agree with them. However, I'll still buy it. Not because I'm a slave to the Apple marketing masters, rather, the Ipod line of products has impressed me so much with it's ease of use, integration with iTunes, and aesthetics. This phone will be a hit, whether we complain about it's camera, battery life, price, etc.

If you cant afford an iPhone then you sure as hell cant afford to be on the phone for more than 5hr stretchs, so stop complaining. Camera? WHO cares, Id like to see a phone w/o a camera because most people dont use it, not to mention the majority of those who dont even know how to use it. (I would know I work tech retail.) Can't expand past 8GB? Correct me if im wrong but I haev yet to see an SD card with more than 4GB. This phone is way ahead of anything else on the market, its there are several disadvantages but you can hardly argue battery life and cost in the same post.

Why U want a 5 Megapixels Camera..in a cell phone...get a life and a Real Digital Camera. The battery life is gona upgrade with time..lots of time until june. 4 what U want more than 8 Gb in a cell phone?....are U gona make a 3 hours movie edited in your cellphone?. How many people use a spare battery?...nobody..its a fact. Iphone is not 3G ...is 4G...so whats the problem? So if U are a Microsoft lover don't blame Apple 4 making better things allways.

Well, although I don't know the specific details on the battery life AND this is only a preview model until they release it in June --- I will say that they have totally screwed themselves if its only 5 hrs. Honestly people, they've created a wonderful multimedia device with what looks to be an exceptional phone that has a battery life that will force many heavy users to steer clear of. People who are paying these prices are people want to use ALL the features on the go... heavy users that will be on their respective devices constantly throughout the day - checking emails, updating calenders, using internet... and all the cool ipod stuff as well. I am not saying this isn't years ahead of the competition, I am just saying that I will wait till they get better battery life before I invest in my all-in-one WIRELESS device.

What is the quality of the 2mpixel camera? I've seen some shots taken by the N95 and they suck! Still too much blur! 3G? Anyone who uses it? The only disadvantages i see are the battery life and the possibilitie of not making videos with that camera. Design rocks, the phone is realy fast, something you can't say of a nokia, and the phone is a revolution!

Im not an apple fan.. But obviously apple isnt going to make it upgradeable. Its an ipod...phone. I think it should have come with more space, but im sure that would have resulted in it being 100s more. a 5mp camera for a cell phone is ridiculous. OMG NO EXTRA BATTERY?!?! who carries around an extra battery? Thats just to make it to "5 things bad about the iPhone" because that sounds better than "4 things bad about the iPhone" Battery life is obviously the biggest problem, and apple will probably realize this before release. Stupidest post on Techeblog in a long long time..

hahaha.... thats a bunch of bollox! your just hating! FACT is that they have shown something innovative, new and well put together. If I said name some peope you know who use an iPod or mp3 player of some sort, you'd run out of fingers quickly... if i said name someone you know who carries a spare mobile phone battery with them...i doubt you'l name one (other than yourself). And it does have expandable memory, it has an sd card slot. Also, its THE thinnest PDA phone in the world. The only mobile phone with only a touchscreen as the interface. It can last 16hours playing music... and dude, 5hours talk time is pretty good for any pda type phone. Afterall, people who can afford it wont be crying over how they couldnt talk for over 5 hours non-stop... they will be showing off it off as if they had a boob job. Bottom line - there really isnt an argument over the 'lack of features' with this phone. There really are only two types of people who will complain about this product. 1) those who are genuinely 100% with out a doubt in absolute love with Bill Gates, and 2) Old people. Case Closed.

1. ones that DO have 5MP cameras aren't pocketable and thick as hell, and i wouldn't expect quality shots with those anyways... a 5MP ultracompact (like Canons) would r@pe a 5MP phone camera 2. no.. that's enough. 3. 4GB is more than enough for me on a phone/music player (i'm one of those who don't use HDD based mp3 players with massive 20GB+ capacities...) 4. see jorge's post 5. this is the only valid point i see in this list... though it's nice to have a user-replaceable battery, NONE of my gadgets have an extra battery except for the ones that use standard AA/AAA batteries... valid point but moot for me
