Traveling the world and taking in the sights is what many adventurers dream of doing, but all that travel can get quite expensive. 6. Crooked Forest

In a tiny corner of western Poland a forest of about 400 pine trees grow with a 90 degree bend at the base of their trunks – all bent northward. Surrounded by a larger forest of straight growing pine trees this collection of curved trees, or “Crooked Forest,” is a mystery. Planted around 1930, the trees managed to grow for seven to 10 years before getting held down, in what is understood to have been human mechanical intervention.

Giant trees surround this old train tunnel located in Kleven, Ukraine. The magical-looking place is nicknamed “The Tunnel Of Love” by locals because it is a popular spot for couples to visit.

4. The Blue Lagoon

A visit to the Blue Lagoon Iceland geothermal spa is an important part of your stay in Iceland. The water’s temperature is 37-39C / 98-102F. The lagoon holds six million liters of geothermal seawater, which is renewed every 40 hours. Regular sampling shows that “common” bacteria do not thrive in this ecosystem, thus additional cleansers such as chlorine are not needed.

3. Ice Canyon, Greenland

The Greenland ice sheet is one of the biggest in the world (to give you an idea of how big it is, just imagine the ice occupying an area of about 14 times the size of the country of England), and just by looking at the photos, you’ll already be enamored by its otherworldly layout. The glaciers and icebergs created by this ice sheet is one of the reasons why a lot of people fall in love with this place.

The Great Barrier Reef is the world’s largest coral reef system. It’s located in the Coral Sea, off the coast of Queensland, Australia. It’s so large, you can see it from outer space. The reef is a very popular destination for scuba divers and other tourists.

1. Plitvice Lakes National Park

Due to the natural beauty of the waterfalls, cascades, caves and rocks, which offer a beautiful mosaic of colours, sounds and shapes surrounded by high mountain forest terrain, Plitvice lakes and its surroundings were in 1949 declared a National Park, and since 1979 have been under the UNESCO protection. This largest and oldest national park only has electric trains and boats that transport its visitors to various destinations, after which tourists can continue their sightseeing by walking on the narrow paths and trails, crossing wooden bridges that are just above the water surface.
