A Look Back: Sega 32X

Sega released the 32X in mid-November 1994, at the price of $150. This device offered twin Hitachi (SH2) 32-bit RISC processors, 256KB (2 MBit) program RAM and two 128KB (1 MBit) framebuffers, and two linear framebuffers with support for RLE compression. Unfortunately, the 32X met its demise in mid-1995. Videos after the jump.
Store shelves became littered with unwanted Sega 32X systems, and prices for a new one dropped as low as $19.95. Sega planned a console named the Sega Neptune, which would have been a Genesis and 32X in one. However, by the time a prototype was developed, the Sega Saturn was going to be released, and Sega cancelled the Neptune

Ugh...the money that I wasted on this thing...the system was only out long enough for me to get two games Sonic and Knuckles and Virtua Racing which I must say was one of the greatest racing games EVER!

Dave Interesting topic... I'm working in this industry myself and I don't agree about this in 100%, but I added your page to my bookmarks and hope to see more interesting articles in the future
