NEC released the TurboGrafx 16 to North American markets on September 1st, 1989 — an 8-bit gaming system with a 16-bit graphics chip. Originally priced at $249.99, the system used innovative HuCards instead of cartridges for games and featured six-channel sound. Videos after the jump.
