Amazon Kindle 2

The same e-book reader that sold millions has now got an official update. Called the Kindle 2, "it's way thinner, the back is apparently made of metal and there are stereo speakers at the bottom." Available on February 24th, priced at $359. Click here for first picture in gallery.

We'll admit to missing the polarizing ultra-80s look of the original, but this thing looks pretty sweet.

The old Kindle was horrific to look at kept slipping out of its case when you were reading. It looks like they've certainly improved the image but the functionality had a long way to go. Fingers crossed. I'll wait for reviews and reserve judgment. Also, this story makes some good points if not slightly off-key: http://slashcool.com/stuff/gadgets/amazon-kindle-2-woman.html
