Anton Yelchin Dead

Anton Yelchin, known for his character Chekov in J.J. Abrams’ Star Trek films, died in a freak accident early Sunday morning at the age of 27. “They went to his San Fernando Valley home at around 1AM and found him pinned between his car and a brick mailbox, which was attached to a security gate,” according to a report. This discovery was made at 1am, after Yelchin was several hours late for a rehearsal with friends. The car engine was reportedly still running, and the transmission in neutral. “Yelchin’s 5,000 pound Jeep Grand Cherokee rolled backwards and pinned him against the gate with such force, it bent the metal. As we reported, Yelchin was supposed to show for a rehearsal that was called for around 11 PM Saturday night so it appears the accident occurred at some point before that. Friends worried when he did not show and at around 1 AM Sunday they went to the house and discovered his body,” according to TMZ.
