Apacer AU822

For a no-frills digital media player, Apacer offers the AU822. Available in 256MB, 512MB or 1GB capacities, it features a 1.5-inch LCD display, integrated FM tuner, voice recorder, and AMV video support. One potential drawback, it only has a 5-hour battery life. Pricing and availability have not yet been announced. [via Gizmodo]

caution! according to manual, the 1gb version allows storage of only 99 files (use of subdirectories not allowed), thus negating much of the storage capacity one might expect from a 1 gb device. that plus the short battery life makes this player less attractive than it may first seem. also, the store where i looked at the player did not have the optional ac adaptor available.
