Apple Planning Three New iPod Models for 2007

According to RegHardware, Apple is planning to launch three new iPod models in 2007 -- including a 16GB Flash memory-based player.
The new models include the long-awaited widescreen video-centric iPod and possibly a recently rumoured 16GB Flash-based video player. Having only recently updated the iPod, iPod Nano and iPod Shuffle, Apple is unlikely to tinker with the line in the immediate future, though tweaks may come early next year as the company responds to demand over the Christmas period

looks like it would scratch very easily, and theres probably not a way to put a case on with ease. Also if you were watching a video, how would you increase volume and ff/rw? The entire screen is filled. I won't buy it, I'll stick with a zune.

wow I guess i'll put in the first positive entry here...this looks alot better than any Ipod to date and will definetly catch the eyes of many.

i just got a new 80 gig ipod for my birthday 3 months ago and i have seen some pictures of this ipod for over a year now. I was waiting for it to come out, and now that it is and looking at Alex's comment on the battery life and how to access the buttons im glad i didnt wait for this, maybe in the future, far future, give me 5 years. But right now, i like my 80 gig.

If you knew anything about displays, OLCD or OLED takes almost no power.

have none of u ever seen any kind of PDA or smart phone or even the DS? They all have touch screens and are, get this, scratch RESISTANT. Technology is crazy isn't it, they can actually reduce scratches. I know most of you think you're great engineers, but I'm sure the people at apple will take the fact that you need a clear screen to enjoy this ipod into account, and design accordingly, so stop complaining.

Apple had recently applied for a Patent on the Technology behind the New Apple Video iPod. It uses the Bezel outside the screen for touch interface. Touching the bezel will bring up menus on screen, and simply sliding your finger or tapping your finger activates the menus. An solution to not touching the screen.
