Astronomers claim that seven planets in the Milky Way, located outside our solar system, could potentially harbor life. Researchers have put together the The Habitable Exoplanets Catalog (HEC) to organize them. Continue reading for a video and more information.
Currently, there are seven potentially habitable exoplanets listed by HEC, including the disputed Gliese 581g, plus some 27 more from NASA Kepler candidates waiting for confirmation. Every single one of these exoplanets are superterrans, better known as Super Earths, and are much larger than Earth, but still considered potentially habitable; scientists have not yet found a true Earth analogue.
