They should be comparing Vista to Mac OSX Leopard when it comes out...

yeah, I totally agree with you, hyperionic. They really SHOULD have compared it with the unreleased OS X. I am sure the BBC will probably blame it on their faulty flux capacitor. I demand unbiased comparisons!!

It's not a fair competition. The kids are used to windows, so obviously they would like more.
Give the computers do people that's not used to computers like my granny and she would say that the macs are easyer to use.
In fact they are.
I could notice the the blonde girl said that the got somethings from the mac to thw windows witch is something that mickeysoft has been doing forever.

"I liked it." Wow. Hard hitting journalism, there. How about why they liked it. The young lady had a much more cogent statement (being used to Windows) than anything this "reporter" had to say. And how about the opposing point of view (and if not, why not tell us that)? I get a feeling that the BBC runs on WIndows, and may be getting really favourable pricing on their upgrade.

I'll never understand schools and/or businesses that use windows. Windows is great for home use, but it just makes sense when it comes to money to use a free system that works just as well if not better. Keeping up to date is a lot easier when the next update is free.

it's not out yet, and it stirs up people, it;s like comparisons of 360 versus Wii and PS3 around last year this time, the other weren't even out yet.
When comparisons are made like this it just stirs people up, some good advertising.

Wow that was the most worthless story ever, comparing Microsoft's new Vista with Apple's old OS, good try Microsoft but even with stealing some of Macs old OS features you still just don't get it and never will. I honestly don't see why people still use Microsoft's OS's. People, get with it already.

Macs are for people that don't know how to use computer. Plain and simple. Once you know how to navigate your way around, you will discover how much better windows is. Apple will never be accepted in the buisness world, or educational. The facts are, that Windows systems are more powerful. All Apple has is market penetration, through the iPod, exagerated commercails, and a false image of being 'Indie' and 'Cool'.

People who say this make me sick. Just because Macs are simpler, people will automatically say they are for stupid people, and people who know nothing about computers.
What is power good for on computers? Games and graphics, and I fail to see how either of those is important in the buisness or educational worlds. And now that Macs use Intel processors, there is very little difference between the two in terms of power.
There is no better computer now, they both have very similar capabilities. It is just a matter of personal preference.

"Macs are for people that don’t know how to use computer. Plain and simple."
- I'd imagine most mac users were once PC users. They simply saw the light.
"Once you know how to navigate your way around, you will discover how much better windows is."
- So you're basically saying that PC's are badly designed! Spend an hour on a mac and you'll realise how much nicer they are to use.

90% of computers at my college were macs. Why would you want a powerful machine in the buisiness world anyway - spread sheets and Word docs haha!
At the end of the day, it all comes down to personal preference.

"Macs are for people that don’t know how to use computer. Plain and simple". Haha, I think they are good for games or gambling with your business (remember those 144000 viruses etc.). Most people would be better off by switching to Mac at anytime than waiting for Microsoft to copy OS X and update Windows to the previous Mac level. To use computer on PC side means actually how to troubleshoot, reinstall the OS, fight with malware. Things that Apple users don't need to do. That's my experience with 3 PCs and one Mac on the desk.
