Boeing 747 Jumbo Jet Survives Bomb Test
This test "on a Boeing 747 suggests that a US Christmas Day flight would have landed safely even if a bomb on board was detonated successfully." The jumbo jet only suffered an outward dent and the loss of a few rivets. Video after the break.
The flight controls and fuel tanks appeared safe post-blast to Captain J Joseph, an air accident investigator, and John Wyatt, an international terrorism and explosives adviser to the United Nations.[via Popsci]
