Boeing has just won a patent for a protective force field that could prevent vehicles from being harmed by explosions. No, patent doesn’t entail stopping bullets or lasers using some sort of exotic dark matter or anything like that, but rather, it detects explosions near a vehicle, quickly heats up the air or water between the vehicle as well as the blast, and the heat creates a plasma shield that is more dense than normal air, adding to the vehicle’s protection.
