Call of Duty 4?

One of our readers just sent in a clip of what they claim is leaked "Call of Duty 4" gameplay footage. What are your thoughts? Video after the jump.

100% it's not Call of Duty 4, it's modern russian special forces. Also they use modern weapons.

Me too. I don't think it's CoD4. It hasn't got the same "appeal".

First impression is unlikely to be CoD4 - all the current CoD games are WWII, so why should CoD4 suddenly leap to being modern combat? (With helo's and the rest of it) Also the 'game' in the video wasn't poloshed enough, even for an alpha/pre-beta version. I'm gonna agree with maua... this is probably a mod for an existing game (though which I don't know) or an entirely new game altogether. Be great if that reader had left the source as well.

Whatever claims this is call of duty 4 is a moron, the call of duty series is a WW2 series, these guys have modern guns and tanks, and there is a helicopter, and the guy is using a famas assault rifle, definatly not a call of duty game unless they have decied to ruin the francise by making it about some fake war in modern day europe that never happened and likly never will happen.

I find it hard to believe that this is a Call Of Duty game. And speaking of CoD, im quite tired of those games...

Looks like more modern day than WWII. So I doubt it's CoD4.

A) The graphics aren't good enough to be call of duty 4. COD3 looks better than this. B) I'm fairly sure I read somewhere that COD4 will not be WWI/II oriented.

well first of all the graphics arent bad, it is the video res, and i agree that this is not a cod game bcause they are strictly WWll, but maybe it is some new game that they are making?!

hey moneywagon Activision said that they r going to abandon the WW2 theme and the next CoD is going to be modern themed..... i think it might be CoD4 because of the music used, and the way that there is no cutscenes...it's just the commander briefing you in a tank....and that's very CoD-like....

COD4 is going to be modern-war, that is confirmed. The developers have seen enough of WW2. Only the audio isn't right in this clip, thats from a COD2/1 mission, because of the old gun sounds. This COULD be a clip from COD4, an early build though. (COD3 has not been produced by the team from COD1/Cod2)

Even if COD4 wasn't going to be WWII, it wouldn't look like this, throughout the whole series the gameplay looks similar and this would be a huge jump, the HUD isn't even the same.

This could very well be an early build of CoD4. I also read that CoD4 will not revolve around WWII. They've finished with that.

It isn't CoD4, look at the bottom left. There is a symbol there, and it is the same here http://www.illusionsoftworks.com/ Made by Illionsoftworks, not Infinity Ward.

for the love of god. this isnt cod4. its a game being made by illusion softworks. http://www.illusionsoftworks.com/ you can see their logo in the bottom left of the screen.
