Dell Alienware Concept Nyx Game Controller CES 2023
Dell unveiled their second-generation Alienware Concept Nyx controller at CES 2023 today and this device is more than just for games. Starting off, there’s a hidden biometric sensor underneath the Alienware logo, which can authenticate users before they’re able to access profiles or custom settings. Now instead of a D-pad, there’s a circular trackpad that not only responds to gestures, but also offers haptic feedback.

Alienware’s 34 QD-OLED curved gaming display is touted as the world’s first to be powered by Quantum Dot Display technology, which results in an ultra slim panel design with extreme color performance, higher peak luminance, as well as a wider color gamut range compared to WOLEDs. This is made possible by incorporating OLED display technologies that offer truer black and an infinite contrast ratio and then increasing the color performance by converting blue light directly into the red and green primary display colors through a Quantum Dot pixel layer.

The last Alienware laptop have an AMD processor was the Aurora mALX back in 2007, but today, the company announces the m15 Ryzen Edition R5. It features Alienware’s fastest displays on a 15-inch notebook ever, allowing users to select up to QHD 240Hz or FHD 360Hz panels to deliver silky smooth gameplay. This is also the first Legend 2.0-based Alienware notebook, thanks to a new design feature called Dark Core, which darkens the interior shade of the laptop to minimize distractions and keep your mind in the game. Think of the Alienware Concept UFO as a Nintendo Switch that runs Windows. It’s powered by a 10th Gen Intel processor and features Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, as well as Thunderbolt connectivity. This handheld PC lets gamers enjoy triple-A titles on the go on an 8-inch screen at 1900×1200 resolution. There’s no word yet on pricing or availability, but we won’t be surprised to see a production model when the Switch Pro is released later this year.

Alienware has just revealed its monstrous desktop replacement at CES 2019, the all-new Area-51m laptop. Priced from $2549, this massive 8.54-pound laptop boasts Intel’s 9th-generation desktop CPUs and “full-fat” versions of NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX GPUs. The base model comes equipped with a six-core Core i7-8700 chip and RTX 2060 with 6GB GDDR6 video memory, but can easily be upgraded to the eight-core i9-9900K and RTX 2080 with 8GB GDDR6. Other features include a 17.3-inch 1080p IPS display (NVIDIA G-Sync and Tobii eye-tracking compatible), up to 64GB of DDR4 RAM , and a triple storage configuration that includes two 1TB PCIe M.2 SSDs as well as a 1TB hybrid drive. Room 2425 at the Hilton Panama has been transformed into the “Alienware Hotel Room”, or at least temporarily.
