The 4.1-inch capacitive, multitouch display is joined by additional back, home and search touch-sensitive buttons, all of which seemed responsive in our short time with the device. The back is also home to a 5 megapixel cam with flash while there's a 3.5mm headphone jack on the top of the device and a micro-USB port on the bottom edge.

Priced at $200 with T-Mobile service agreement, the Dell Streak 7 is a powerhouse tablet that features a 1GHz dual-core Tegra T20 processor, 5.0-megapixel camera, and 7-inch touchscreen display. Ironically, despite the Dell Streak 7's improved specs, it finds itself in no better place than the original Streak: it runs the same software, and while it has a larger screen, the resolution doesn't make it anymore useful.

...the Aero is indeed still running Android 1.5, though the company is quick to note that it's actually a "superset" with a "tremendous amount of customization" with features like handwriting recognition and Facebook baked into the platform.

The iPhone 4G isn't the only new phone being launched this summer. Powered by Windows 7, the Dell Lightning features a 1.0-GHz Snapdragon processor, 4.1-inch OLED display, 5.0MP camera, 8GB of internal memory, 512MB RAM, GPS, and microSD expansion. We'll see what happens with that -- the ship date is pegged at Q4, indicating this is a WP7 launch device, and Microsoft's told us Flash won't make it into the OS initially.

Better still, it looks as if it'll launch with an Amazon content partnership, which will bring a Kindle e-book reader app, Amazon MP3, Amazon video streams and pretty much any other material that Amazon sells in digital form right to the slate.

The Dell Aero may be the company's first foray into the North American smartphone market, but it's definitely no slouch, as this hands-on video proves. It seems that AT&T is doing just about everything it can right now to rob Android of its nerdy core and replace it with stripped down (and frankly boring) featurephone skins.

AT&T has unveiled the Dell Aero, the company's first smartphone for North America. Though technical specifications have not been released, it's rumored to be running Android 1.5-1.6 OS with a custom skin.

In January, Dell officials said AT&T, the No. 2 mobile service carrier in the United States, would carry Dell's smartphone as well as four others from HTC Corp. and Motorola Inc., officials said today.
