In some parts of the world -- including the UK, Australia, and Japan -- Duke Nukem Forever has finally become a reality, after 14-years of development. ABC News reports that "the website Metacritic.com, which aggregates reviews, gave the Xbox 360 version a score of 55 out of 100." Click here for the first picture in gallery. The look of Duke Nukem Forever is most certainly dated, with a level of detail way behind the bleeding edge and, on Xbox 360, framerate issues and unreasonabley long load times. Even if that's to be expected considering the game's been in development for over a decade, it doesn't make it any easier to look at.

That's right, to further prove that Duke Nukem Forever will actually be released sooner than later, 2K Games has debuted the game's official launch trailer. It's set to hit stores on June 14th, 2011 in the US. Continue reading to watch.

Finally, after years of delays, Duke Nukem Forever gets a playable demo, which can be experienced at PAX 2010. Best of all, developer Pitchford announced that they will be releasing the game in 2011 on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC platforms. Gameplay videos after the break. And it doesn't look, at least graphically, like it began production in 1997. Thematically? Well, that's a different topic. And while the graphics aren't going to put Crysis 2 to shame, they're fine ... good even! The film grain effect does a nice job of improving the overall image quality.

Duke Nukem Forever may never be released, but that hasn't stopped YouTube user "hmcindie" from producing a live-action movie based on the series. No word yet on the official release date. Continue reading for the trailer.

We're not sure what engine this is using (Wikipedia says it uses Unreal 2.0), but whatever it is, it's been changed a bunch of times, including the Unreal 1 engine for a time. Did you know that the top of the line gaming PC back when it was supposed to be released was a Pentium II?
