Finally, after several years of delays, the full version of Gran Turismo 5 has hit stores. Early reviewers acknowledge that the game is "a hardcore product that requires intense attention to steering and line as well as a knowledge of track layout and the position of others are around you." Shown at the Tokyo Game Show earlier, this incredible video shows off Gran Turismo 5's dynamic weather system. Plus, "the game's weather system is also auto-generated based on a trio of interacting factors: humidity, temperature and pressure." Video after the break. Click here for more screenshots.
The combination of those three elements can result in fog, rain, snow or a clear day. Yamauchi said the team cannot even impose specific weather conditions on a particular race but merely suggest them by creating cloudy weather, for example. But, the real news is the G Sports Series FT-86. Because it's the FT-86 is still officially a "concept" Toyota isn't revealing any hard data beyond RWD, 2.0-liters and six-speed manual.[via Kotaku - Autoblog]
The Toyota FT-86 -- engineered and designed by Toyota using Subaru engine -- is set to be officially unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show on October 24th. Its turbocharged engine will reportedly generate between 200hp - 250hp, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. However, Polyphony Digital has already beat them to the punch, with this new trailer.
