Designed by Patrick Hyland, the Nokia E-Cu is an innovative cell phone that can be charged from the heat in your pocket. In other words, "an integrated thermogenerator converts heat from any source into electrical energy to charge the phone, whether while being carried in your pocket or placed on top of a radiator." Click here for more pictures.

I'm not so sure the increasing prices (and demand) for copper will ever make this phone a reality, but in the meantime it's nice to see someone use the Nokia name for good. Unlike, err, Nokia.

Despite Nokia's reputation for producing consumer-oriented phones, the Kinetic is purely strange. Essentially, it has an "electromagnet that can shift weights in the curved base, causing the phone to tilt upright on cue, that cue being an incoming call." Click here to see more pictures.

It's intended to be a playful feature, though I can see it being useful in a quiet office where even vibrating phones are sometimes an irritant to others.

A leaked picture of the Nokia N98 has surfaced, revealing "distinctive tapered edges with contrast coloring, moving through the black bezel-sporting display." Plus, there's also a QWERTY keypad. We'll update you with more information as it's released.

Now, we don't live anywhere near Espoo, so we can't tell you whether this was just a precursor to the N8, which lost its physical keyboard and N9x naming scheme to become the beastly media phone we know today.

The Nokia N8 was officially announced yesterday, and "here is the first HD video sample captured in 720p; this amazing footage of a dancer on a rooftop has not been enhanced or tweaked in any way." Continue reading to watch.

This, combined with pleas from Nokia to please, please wait before passing judgment on its inauspiciously leaked prototype phone, is part of a rehabilitation effort after early reports claimed the software, Symbian N^3, didn't feel finished.
