Amazon is selling the Archos 605 Wi-Fi Portable Media Player (30 GB) for just $156 shipped, originally priced at $299.99. This innovative player “bridges the gap between the PC and the TV; for the first time, you can stream content from the PC or the Internet to the TV or PMP–all through a wireless home network, the Archos 605, and the DVR Station.” Product page.

Available in Q4 and priced between $631-$701, the Archos 9 PC Tablet features a resistive touchscreen that some claim is multi-touch capable. Other specs include: a 1.2GHz or 800MHz Intel Atom Z515 CPU, 1GB of RAM, 802.11b/g WLAN, Bluetooth 2.1, and a 120GB hard drive. Video after the break.

However, since it’s running Windows 7, a full-blown desktop OS, you’ll still need to pull out the included stylus on occasion to interactive with the Windows 7 UI or applications designed for a mouse and keyboard.

With an advanced Li-Poly battery, the player supports up to 17 hours of continuous music playback, and 5.5 hours of continuous video playback.

Amazon has the Archos 5 internet media tablet for just $339.99 shipped. This player is basically “a high-end portable device with an ultra-thin design, a black stainless steel body, a high-resolution 5-inch touchscreen, and the horsepower of a laptop.” Product page.

With an 800-pixels-wide resolution and a 5-inch screen, you can browse the Web just as you would on your PC. Plus, with Adobe Flash 9 video support, you can natively browse video-sharing websites, such as Dailymotion or YouTube.

Amazon is offering the 80GB Archos 705 for just $294.99 shipped, originally priced at $399.99. Utilizing its built-in Wi-Fi, “the 705 connects to the Internet for surfing the Web, accessing e-mail, and watching Web-based videos wherever you go.” Product page.

The player also sports an integrated TV program guide you can use to record your favorite TV shows for later playback. And because the device supports PDF files, you can kick back with an e-book in PDF format while on the road or review important PDF documents while away from the office.

Amazon is selling the Creative Zen 8GB Portable Media Player for just $104.00 shipped originally priced at $204.82. This razor sharp display is packaged in a device that weighs just 2.1 ounces and measures 3.26 x 2.16 x .44 inches (W x H x D). The internal battery powers the Zen for up to 25 hours of continuous audio playback and up to five hours of continuous video playback.

The SPINN navigation is very well implemented and allows for natural and precise one-handed operation with heavy tactile control — touchscreen too if that’s your preference.

IdeaPad

At 21 x 173 x 84-mm, the Lenovo IdeaPad U8 features a 4.8-inch touchscreen, Intel Atom processor, 2GB of memory, 6GB Flash, 802.11b/g Wi-Fi, dual cameras, Bluetooth, EDGE, GPS, and digital television compatibility. Video after the break.

Expect to see it trotted out tomorrow as Intel’s San Francisco IDF gets underway — with any luck, it’ll be sporting WiMAX for a North American / European release.
