Wayne Adams and Catherine King spent the better part of the past 20-years building a self-sufficient floating island called ‘Freedom Cove’. It consists of 12 platforms complete with greenhouses, a dance floor, art gallery, lighthouse tower for guests, power generator and even a studio where the visionary couple live. They’ve resided here since 1992, and the clean water comes from a nearby waterfall during the summer, while being collected from the sky during winter months. “The dynamic duo fish for food and grow their own vegetables in their half an acre garden, which contains a five greenhouses. The whole island used to be powered by an array of 14 solar panels that recently broke, so they had to switch to a generator for their power,” reports Inhabitat.
