CP-1 USB Spy Mouse

Keep a close ear on your computer with the CP-1. Hidden inside this otherwise normal looking mouse is a condenser microphone - capable of picking up on any nearby conversations. It measures 53 x 95 x 35 mm and weighs just 75g.
"CP-1 keeps on transmitting until PC is switched on. Once you switch off the PC, CP-1 stops working."

What I am wondering is how does this actually work? Sure I know the basic funciton but as far as listening in goes, does it record thru the USB to the PC or is it a transmitting device that transmits to a radio frequency? A basic radio transmitter is simple to install but if this has the ability to record to your computer thru the USB cable then I would say this is one pretty sweet spy tool.

I've got a mouse that's physically the same, I and can tell you that in my experience, the fact that the cable sticks up at the front means it's prone to breaking off. Personally, I think it's a solution in search of a problem. Why not just bug a smoke detector? BTW, this makes no sense whatsoever: "CP-1 keeps on transmitting until PC is switched on. Once you switch off the PC, CP-1 stops working.” Either it goes when the PC is on or it doesn't. Which is it?

@v.dog its kinda obvious its powered by the USB, so I think they ment to say "P-1 keeps on transmitting while PC is switched on."

CP-1 USB Spy Mouse What about office snooping? The CP-1 mouse has a built in microphone that turns on when plugged into a powered up PC. You’ll need the matching receiver to hear what’s going on, and why you can’t record to the computer’s hard drive is beyond us...
