Up till now, dark matter has never been detected, but Cryogenic Dark Matter Search (CDMS) scientists to have captured the elusive substance "in a defunct iron ore mine half a mile underground." Video after the break.

Tantalising glimpses of dark matter particles were picked up by highly sensitive detectors at the bottom of the Soudan mine in Minnesota, the scientists said.
