Dell and Alienware Become One

It's official: Dell has just confirmed the long rumored acquisition of Alienware. The good news is that Alienware will be a "wholly owned subsidiary under existing management", meaning they will operate seperate from Dell as a standalone unit.
"We believe that Alienware will realize significant advantages from Dell's world-class supply chain and operational efficiencies. They will allow us to continue to satisfy our core customers with the most innovative and highest-performing PCs, and ultimately extend the reach and appeal of the Alienware brand."

this opens the door for dell to start using amd chips.... looks like itll work out for some amazing great looking computers... cant wait till the new models come out

Alienware is going to become crap. Just learn to build your own computer - it isn't hard. It's cheaper, and there's plenty of free tech support on forums all across the internet.

Hmmmm Dells falty parts combined with alien ware's high price equals one big piece of crap, but I with the other guys dont realy car i build my own comps anyway.

If Dell can provide Alienware PC's at the same quality but at a lower price than this cant be a bad thing. However chances are they will be of a lower quality.
