Amber Dinosaur Tail
Researchers at a Hukawng Valley amber mine in Myanmar have discovered an amber nugget containing the first preserved dinosaur tail covered in feathers. It’s believed to come from a small, sparrow-sized dinosaur – likely a carnivorous coelurosaurus, which is part of a group that includes the Tyrannosaurus Rex – that went extinct approximately 99 million years ago.

This part of the tail is from the tail bone, measuring just 2 millimeters across. The team believes that the top of the feathers were dark brown in color, while the underside could have been colorless.
