Demonstrated at E3 2014 this week, Sony’s Project Morpheus is the codename for an upcoming virtual reality headset that’s designed to fully function with Sony PlayStation 4. It’s currently a prototype and will be released sometime after 2014. Sony Computer Entertainment head Andrew House said sales of its PlayStation Camera had been better than expected, and Morpheus was an extension of that. News Tonight reports, “Despite the fact that gaming will be the first killer application for Sony’s Project Morpheus VR headset, the company’s movie and TV studios can feed its popular PlayStation consoles with VR-ready content; thereby making Project Morpheus an attractive accessory for non-gamers too.”
