Elecom's PLC-2 is one of the first devices that can directly convert CD tracks to MP3 files and than record (4x speed) on to SD memory without using a computer. Plus, it's also a mini boombox with buit-in stereo speakers and headphone jack. Pricing has been set at $198 USD. Availability has not yet been announced.
