Yes, the FBI’s 10 Most Wanted list turns 60 this week. It was “first seen in post offices and banks, now the photos are more likely to show up on TV shows, billboards and the Internet through Web sites and trendy social networks like Facebook and Twitter.” Here’s a little more information on the image above:
…the FBI’s ten Most Wanted Fugitives list began with a newspaper story by reporter James Donovan who asked the bureau: “Who are the 10 toughest guys you are looking for?” His article seen here on the front page of the Washington Daily News in 1949, would encourage the FBI to make the list an official crime fighting tool.
