First Look: Duck Hunt (Wii)

Finally, Nintendo has unveiled Duck Hunt 2 for its upcoming Wii console. This new version seems to have an interesting two-player mode, as you'll see in the video. Watch after the jump. [via Kotaku]

Wow..... Ok Ok the ps3 has the ultimate power and the best graphics games. But i am starting to drift over to Wii just for the pure fact of it would be fun as hell. I love nintendos marketing.

That seems too retro for the wii. Still looks like loads of fun even after all those years though. If its cheaper than most games (or if it comes with other NES style games) then it may be more worth it.

It's been 24 years since Duck Hunt, and THIS is what the come up with?? You still don't walk around or actually hunt anything? It looks exactly the same as the first Duck Hunt! Oh I hope that dog is back, too. Looks like this gun will be about as succesful as the old Zapper light gun, which functioned on exactly 18 out of the almost thousands of Nintendo games that were created. Why exactly would Sony copy Nintendo, again? Sony has owned the market place since PS1 dominated N64. I liked N64, I had one and thought it was great, but nintendo hasn't made anything I've been interested in since.

Gun is plenty ugly, but it looks like alot of fun can be had. Should have some awesome FPS potential. The Wii is getting cooler and cooler.

Now I can finnaly re-live my NES days! Oh wait, I have Duck Hunt still...and my old NES... Oh well, this will still be a blast! Xbox 360+Wii=One happy oldschool gamer

I like how they added a depth element w/o getting into full 3D crazyness. I hope that dog is there too..... He's gonna get it this time!

Yeah cory... And I thank God they kept it simple ("don’t walk around or actually hunt anything") because thats the whole idea of Duckhunt! And about your Sony - Nintendo question... If it wasnt for Nintendo Playstation would never be around so in a certain way they are always looking at what Nintendo is doing... This new controller thing Sony did was really a shame considering that one member of the Warhawk staff said that they heard about Sony´s inovative controller feature only a couple of weeks ago... I really love the Ps2 and the Ps1 but I wont spend 600 on only a console... I would still have to Buy another controller, games etc... So I would spend minimum 800 bucks there... With that money I rather buy a xbox 360 and a Wii...

i think they just added the gun controller because they know people will buy it... couldnt that game be played with the wiimote? along with all FPS games they come out with? i'm getting a wii but i dont think ill pick up this gun thing

I amk sick of your dumbass comments Cory,,You have not once came up with a shred of reson to your thoughts! That whole PS3 controler thing came from something I've seen before...hmmm...oh yeah PC! I was using one of those ever since Motocross Madness came out in the 90's! Oh but hold up! The PS3 is the only console that can make adjustments and not be totally prepared for E3! That's what E3 is all about! It's just a peek, just something to make us get a mind set. At leat the Wii you can have some fun with without paying over $600! Besides you forget where PS came from! Without NES the video game industry would have died with ATARI decades ago.

are you serious? Are you sure you can read? Beyond that, you should probably know a little bit more about history before you open your mouth. I guess you forgot about a certain console manufacturer called "SEGA?" They had really good sports game, and really bad marketing. Ring a bell? Beyond that there were plenty of people trying to get into the gameing realm, they just sucked. And I don't even really understand your post, what the hell are you responding to? It sounds like you think I said PS controllers were original or something? Far from it, they're just functional. Why fix something that isn't broken? The video game market isn't the result of Nintendo, PS1 came out a couple years after NES, if you know anything about business, you should rationaly be able to figure out that there were planning it long before that. And you're just plain retarded if you think the video game era would have ended without Nintendo, it's a multi-billion dollar industry, that playstation has a majority market share of. You anti-fanboys are so simple. It's undeniable that Sony owns the market, but you all claim to hate it, why? Because they're number 1? Wii has what...creativity? If that's what you want, go for it. I want something that has usablity, and is cutting edge.

Sorry Cory, but your history skills are lacking. PS1 was develouped in by a joint research project by Nintendo AND Sony. It was originally going to be a CD-rom loader for the SNES. After Nintendo instead decided to drop the project (after the Sega Genesis 32x failed), Sony decided to finish it off with a few chips, throw in an SNK, and see if they could pull a little revenge on Nintendo. Sony would never, repeat, never, REPEAT NEVER, have stupididly tried to enter the videogame market against Nintendo/Sega without having a foot in the door. That foot was the research project that Nintendo walked through and helped design to top off with the inside information on the sole weakness of the N64 project that Nintendo dumped the SNES CD project to continue develouping.

You aren't telling me anything new, and you didn't contradict anything I said. In fact you are wrong. Nintendo approached Sony. Did you get that order down on paper? Sony was already in development for the CDROM/XA, as was Phillips. Nintendo made a deal with Sony, and later backed out, because eventually Sony would practially own Nintendo. Nintendo then made the deal with Phillps instead, who has just happy to be in on in. Saying that Sony would have never entered the market is as uninformed as saying...Microsoft would never enter the video game market. SEGA was still there when Microsoft did enter, note: Dreamcast (which SEGA, and a lot of experts, thought was going to be HUGE!) At the same time the Sony/Nintendo deal was going through, Sony was already on the move to go ahead with the plan of their own hardware which was to consist of SNES cartridge capability, and Sony's own CD design. (This is how Sony would have owned Nintendo, good call on Yamauchi to back out and save the individuality of his company) Sony was going to attempt to go through with this, but looked toward the future (in compact discs) and dropped the cartridge compatiablity, inevitably giving way to what we now know as Playstation. The gaming phenom was too huge in Japan to actually think that Sony would not have moved in. With or without the deal with Nintendo, Sony was already on the path to CD-based, then cartridge friendly, gaming. Seriously, I wouldn't say I knew what I was talking about, if I didn't.

Oh yeah, I forgot to correct another mistake you made, this one will be simple. Nintendo didn't back out of the deal after the failure of 32X, I already explained why they DID back out. And you cannot be right for the following reasons: Sega 32x release date - Fall 1994 Sega Saturn release date - May 1995 Sony/Nintendo deal broken - June 1991! Unless Nintendo could conceiably see into the future, the deal breaker was based on something else....which I already explained.
