I may not upgrade because XP does what I need it to do.
2
Yes, I will. I didnt have a problem with Vista. I liked it. I'm downloading Windows 7 beta right now!
3
Definitely! The features look awesome! I'm especially excited about the new taskbar. My notification area/system tray has been a mess lately, I'm looking forward to be able to organize it. Aero Peek looks great. The only problem I have with the lack of labels on the taskbar buttons. Windows 7 only shows the icons... that's a really bad idea in my opinion. Why should I have to move my mouse over it to see what window it is? Sure, it /looks/ great, but I'll take utility over looks. I hope there's a way to re-enable the labels. I'll probably upgrade when applications start becoming compatible with Windows 7.

I won't be upgrading to Windows 7, I don't feel Microsoft made any major improvements. They need to step their game up.
5
I may also not upgrade to 7. XP does everything I need, also with super-low memory usage (TinyXP). The only thing from all that new stuff I care may be is the taskbar. But I'm pretty sure that I can get that on XP with some app. The most likely I will stay with XP.
6
Just tested 7 Beta and I'm not impressed. I don't know about others but if this is the future of windows, I guess I'll stick with XP, with Vista skin on it :) Have a Happy New Year you all!

I've been using several operative systems Win 98, Win 2000, Win me, Win XP, Win Vista, some of the Win 7 alpha releases, severall linux distribuctions, macOSx and others. Windows 7 seems to be another Windows Vista with some eye-candy features. Nothing new for improve the security, the system perfomance, etc. I will upgrade to Win 7 cause i need to have machines with recent Operative Systems, but i whould prefer not to.
8
Gonna use an old computer with enough memory to test out windows 7. Vista sucked monkey balls, so I hope they return to a XP-like OS.
9
Running Mac OS X now but thinking of at least giving it a look!
10
Yes, I will, after the first ServicePac. I need an excuse to delete all those old applications and data that are crufting up my computer. And Oh ya, buy a new computer.
11
i wont be upgrading because i use Mac
12
I will, so long as has better software compatibility and stability than vista. Plus, reduce the system requirements (an OS should not require more resources than the software). However, I would imagine that we are far enough beyond XP (timewise) that the upgrade will be necessary at some point.
13
I will be upgrading, under the assumption that every other operating system microsoft makes is crap. windows 98 sp2, great; windows millennium, crap. windows xp, ugly theme, but good; windows vista, all sorts of networking bugs, explorer freezes, etc: crap.
14
I will definitely upgrade since most of the Vista bugs are supposed to be worked out. XP is getting too old and Windows 7 can replace it as long as it is stable and isn't as much of a resource hog as Vista.
15
NO WAY I am mac guy in and out. OSX on my EEE. its the only way to go. Never trusted windows, never will. Last time I fixed my computer, all i had to do was trash every file that said Microsoft and I was good as new.
16
Hopefully it runs faster than and more efficient than Vista, if so, definitely yes.
17
I won't be upgrading, because I'm a poor college student.
18
I own a Mac with XP on bootcamp so I'll probably be upgrading when it comes out. I might even try the beta later this week.
19
Aoooooga! Aooooooga!
20
I probably will, mostly to get away from Vista. I've gotten used to the (minimal) extra features, but I can't stand how clunky and resource-heavy it is. Hopefully 7 fixes that, but I really wish they would fix Vista instead of ignoring it completely.
21
I've been using the Windows 7 beta for a couple of days on my MacBook Pro, just to see if it would make me want to switch back - honestly, it's the closest MS have come to making me want to return to Windows. I really think that's because it's starting to act more Mac-like though. The new taskbar is a prime example of this: it is very similar to the dock.
22
Im downloading the windows seven beta 1 build 7000 tomorrow, looks great but does it improove o the graphics memory where vista fell?
23
I'm using ubuntu but i will try the final product.
24
One definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. I won't be "upgrading" to Windows 7. I am not insane.
25
I won't be upgrading per say, but I will certainly have a dual-boot system with XP and 7. I would most likely only be using 7 so for it's DX10 capabilities, granted Vista can do the same, but 7 seems to be slightly better than Vista although not by much. But for everything else I'll stick to my trusty good ol' XP. BTW, my Windows 7 beta (build 7000) torrent just finished while I typed this.
