Steam-Powered Jeep

Hauk Designs’ steam-powered Jeep Wrangler just might be the craziest custom model yet, and it’s 6-wheeled to boot. It’s powered by a 100ci V4 trunk-piston, poppet-valve uniflow steam engine from the 1960s that generates between 130 hp – 140 hp and 2,500 lb-ft of torque, mated to a standard 6-speed manual. In the rear, you’ll find a 55-gallon water tank, large boiler, and a 16-gallon kerosene fuel cell. Suspension wise, there’s standard Jeep brakes, BDS coilovers, Fox shocks up front, a modified Toyota steering box with 3.73 gears, as well as Reel driveshafts, an Auburn Gear Max Lock locker and a TeraFlex D60 axle in the back.
