Developed by the Chiba Institute of Technology, Hisbiscus is a new kind of rescue bot, designed specifically for locating survivors in the event of disasters (earthquakes, hurricanes, etc.). Powered by a SH-4 processor, the Hibiscus communicates using 802.11g Wi-Fi and is equipped with an infrared thermal camera. This robot measures 370 x 650 x 180 mm and weighs 49-pounds -- priced at $26,800. Video after the jump. [via NewLaunches]
