Hitachi/Maxell's Ultra-thin DVDs

Measuring just 0.092 mm, these new DVDs feature Stacked Volumetric Optical Disc (SVOD) technology -- consisting of "100 ultra-thin optical discs loaded into a 6.5-cm (2.5-inch) thick cartridge" -- and are capable of storing 9.4GB of data when laminated on both sides. A stack of 100 will be priced at under $325.
The company claims that next-generation blue laser technology could boost cartridge capacity to 5 terabytes (50 GB for each double-sided disc).

If by terabyte they mean 5000GB per dual layer disc than yes... but they don't mean that do they?

For Gimpy: They DO mean that. "…Bringing the 100-disc cartridge up to near-terabyte level with 940 GB of storage" They are talking about combining 100 of these discs in one cartridge. So 50GBx100 does, in fact, equal to 5TB. Woohoo!
