Honda’s all-new Riding Assist borrows technology found in the company’s UNI-CUB personal mobility concept and Asimo robot to help motorcycles maintain balance at rest or when it’s moving at slow speeds. Steering speeds under 3mph is controlled with the help of a small motor, which makes steering adjustments on the fly to keep itself stable. A separate motor, which is controlled by a device that sits under the headlight, extends the rake angle of the motorcycle at low speed, making it easier for the bike to balance on its own. That’s not all, there’s also a self-driving mode that can enable a motorcycle move on its own, thanks to a third electric motor located in the front wheel’s hub.
