How It's Made: Air Bags

An air bag "is a flexible membrane or envelope, inflatable to contain air or some other gas" and have been around since 1972. Find out how they're made after the jump.
In 1974, dual airbags were an option on several full-sized cars made by the Buick, Cadillac and Oldsmobile divisions. These devices did not meet with market acceptance.
