Incredible 60-inch Subwoofer

For earth shattering bass you can't beat this custom made 60-inch subwoofer which has the ability to produce SPL levels above 180 dB. This monster has ouput displacement comparable to 160+ ten-inch woofers! More after the jump.

I don't know if this is lethal, but I do know that it would pop your years in less than a second, 180 decibels is comparable to the noise emited by a rocket takeoff (rocket carrying a shuttle for instance)... And for the guy who finds this beatiful and thinks he knows a lot about music I suggest you read something about sound levels before trying this thing out...

amazing, they should produce and sell these for people that are into sound systems and entertainment systems for their houses of course.

I happened to be there when they that mutha' up. The whole front wind shield blew out and landed on the hood of an old converted bread dilervery truck they outfitted for this test. The cone launched out of the basket frame destroying the woofer. The SPL reading that day was only 148dB. Good Luck in the future!!!!!!

165-170 DB is the range that a Space Shuttle has on the launch pad. 165+ is enough to kill you. 180 could probably crush all of your bones into tiny pieces.

Sound is already being used against unruly protestors if a riot breaks out. If you ask me, I'd use very high frequencies as a weapon instead of very low ones.
