Inventors John Foden and Yannick Read have Xplore Air, a bicycle that can easily be turned into a real aircraft. It uses a fan to travel at up to 15mph on land and 25mph in the air, powered by bio-fuel and can reach heights of up to 4,000 feet. Expect to shell out £10,000 for it, but on the bright side, the Xplore Air can be flown without a license. Continue reading for a video, more pictures, and additional information.
This bicycle comes with a GPS tracker to plot its movements and its inventors hope that it will become a mainstream form of transport, thanks to it costing the same as a small family car to run. To take off, an electric motor powered by this bio-fuel is used to start up an electronic motor. This motor then powers the fans that lift the bike off the ground.
