Unlike other passenger jets, IXION has no windows, but rather uses flexible display panels that can go from opaque to transparent at the push of a button. It basically uses external cameras to capture a 360-degree panoramic view of the outside, automatically corrects the perspective and then displays it on the cabin’s walls. According to Design Boom, “IXION incorporates gesture driven environment control to the passengers. the interior ambiance is unlimited with design possibilities thanks to the real time cameras and interacting displays. in order to drive low voltage systems on-board, a series of amorphous solar panels are placed on the upper front half of the exterior, which also powers the sensors for the passenger tracking system.”
