Lighter in Blender as Captured by High-Speed Camera

Yes, a lighter will blend, but it won't go without a bang. The fireball was captured in slow motion with a high-speed camera. Continue reading to watch.

I would like to know why the fire started on the countertop under the blender and not within the blender caraffe where the lighter was spinning. Blenders are water tight, so it could not have been the liquid seeping out once the lighter case broke open.

Well first off, the second the lighter is broken, the liquid turns into its gas form. The gas is also heavier than oxygen so it might have just spilled over the side of the blender. (The cap might have the hole open)
